advent art journaling

Kathy Eaton will lead us in a reflective and relaxing time via Zoom. Here's what she has to say about this event:

The holiday season is a little different this year and so let’s get together virtually and learn about a way to create and process what we are feeling. Art journaling is a fun combination of art and reflective writing. You do not need any art background to get started with your own journal. Art journaling has been a great way for me to process this difficult year and I want to share it with you. We will create our background together and a prompt will guide you through your first reflection. The Advent scriptures will be our inspiration and at the end we will share ideas to help you continue in your art journal adventures. A suggested supply list will be provided and a starter set of materials will be mailed to those of you who are interested in our art journal adventure.

Supply List:

  • Watercolor paints: Prussian Blue, Crimson Red, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre (Optional: Vermillion, Black, White).

  • Paint Brushes: one round and small square flat brush (could also be just another round brush).

  • Mixed media paper/journal or watercolor paper.

  • Glue Stick.

  • Writing Utensils: Sharpie or any waterproof marker for writing. Pencil.

  • Plate or paint palette.

  • Paper: can be any white paper, scrap paper, or even small cards.
